19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Victory also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five games to go ahead.
The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, gained dominance to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early chances in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
